Tommy Walker Debuts I Have A Hope On March 18th
Internationally-Known Worship Leader Teams With Dove-Award Winning Producer Ed Cash
Tommy Walker, a worship leader with over 100 songs currently being tracked by CCLI and sung in churches nationwide and abroad, will release his first-ever national studio recording, I Have A Hope, on Maranatha! Music this March 18th.
Walker’s debut heralds the handiwork of Dove-Award winning producer Ed Cash (Chris Tomlin, Caedmon’s Call, Steven Curtis Chapman, Matt Wertz). With 10 songs including the soaring anthem “Hallelujah, We Will Sing” and the song of yearning “Do It Lord”, as well as the debut single and title track “I Have A Hope”, the overall album is a captivating worship experience.
“The most memorable moment was the day we started vocals,” remembers Cash. “Tommy started to sing ‘Hallelujah, We Will Sing’ at about 10:30 in the morning. He wasn’t feeling it, said his voice felt really tired. We called out to God and asked that His will be done – six hours later we had all the vocals for six complete songs. Simply unheard of, simply God! It was positively the most profound day I’ve ever had in the studio. We laughed, we cried, we celebrated God and became totally lost in His presence.”
Tommy Walker has been serving in a worship leader role for over 15 years alongside some of the most renowned church leaders in the world including Jack Hayford, Bill Hybels, Franklin Graham, Rick Warren, and Greg Laurie. Out of his eight live recordings to date, Walker has created staple songs for the church including “No Greater Love,” “Mourning Into Dancing,” “He Knows My Name,” and “That’s Why We Praise Him.” He has also lead worship teams to the Philippines, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Guatemala, Zambia, Brazil and most recently Jerusalem. Also notable is a 2006 Dove-Award nod for “Choral Collection of the Year” with Great and Marvelous – Celebrating the Songs of Tommy Walker.
Upcoming key appearances in support of the release of I Have A Hope include the National Christian Musician’s Summit, Liberty University, and the National Worship Leader Conference (Worship Leader Magazine). Songs will be featured on SongDISCovery and The Invitation Series with both a Soul2Soul radio special airing on March 28th and the Heart of Worship radio special airing in April. Walker is slated to minister at Saddleback Church March 23rd as well as during a Jack Hayford satellite outreach on April 5th.
